United Way of Central Louisiana recognizes that investing in our community makes effective, large scale change possible.
Community Investment Strategies
The Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) was created by Congress in 1983 to help meet the needs of hungry and homeless people. A local board of agencies work together to disperse these funds to our community. United Way of Central Louisiana currently serves as the Central Louisiana EFSP board chair.

UWCL has a long history of grants in the community. Our goal is to continue to support agencies that align with our focus and create partnerships to improve our community. Although agencies will be required to apply for a specific program, the money received will be unrestricted.
